Biography
Introduction
My name is Vincent Jnr. Sopuruchi Ifezue, born on May 29 to Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Ifezue and Ogechi Ifezue. I am the first of four siblings and a proud native of Anambra State, Nigeria. Though I was born in Orile Sari Iganmu, Lagos, my journey has taken me through different cities, across diverse cultures, and eventually beyond continents.
Early Life
My earliest memories began when my parents moved from Lagos to Enugu, in the eastern part of Nigeria, when I was seven years old. Adjusting wasn’t easy I could barely understand the Igbo language at the time, and my new school taught mainly in it. Eventually, we moved back to Lagos, where I truly started finding myself.
Growing up, music was always around me. Across the street from my parents house was a barbershop that blasted songs from Nigerian icons like P-Square, mohits and many others. After school, I would spend nights watching music videos, amazed at how artists switched outfits and scenes so smoothly. It blew my mind and sparked my curiosity about entertainment.
At the same time, I was playing street football, reading music books, and listening to both Nigerian and international artists like Lil Wayne, Timbaland, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Micheal Jackson, Chris Brown, and many more. Music became my escape. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, it was the one thing that calmed my mind.
Struggles
I dreamed of recording music in Nigeria but couldn’t afford it. I remember visiting a studio with a friend, standing there, unable to pay for a session. Even the producer I looked up to at the time was still figuring out his own path.
To support myself after high school, I worked at Lagos State University around 2011–2012, helping students with photocopying documents. The pay was inconsistent i had to quit.
Coming to America
At 19, my life changed, I won the U.S. visa lottery. When I arrived in the U.S., I thought my life would instantly be better. But reality hit me hard. I enrolled in college for mechanical engineering, but between long hours of work and classes, I struggled. Subjects like physics and advanced mathematics drained me, and I eventually dropped out. Looking back, I realize my true calling was never in science. it was always in art, creativity, and music.
Finding Music Again
Even while working and surviving, music kept finding me. I met producers, hung out in studios, and slowly began to understand how recording worked. One producer encouraged me to record my first track. From then on, I invested in my own equipment and started learning how to record myself.
Years later, after living in the U.S. for seven years, I returned to Nigeria. My family were excited, my siblings i left behind were grown. I felt like a total stranger. After spending time with them for a week I reconnected with the same producer I admired as a teenager. This time, we finally worked together. In just a few hours, I recorded my debut EP, Inspired by Love.

This project gave birth to songs like Jiggy Baby, which would later define my style and inspire me to keep pushing forward.
Life in the U.S.
Life in America hasn’t been easy. As the eldest son, I often balance my own bills with supporting family back home. At times, it feels like modern day slavery working endlessly just to survive. But through it all I’ve kept pushing. Music became my anchor, my therapy, and my dream.
I’ve met good people who supported me and I’ve also made mistakes especially in my early years when freedom without guidance led me astray. But every mistake became a lesson. I learned to avoid trouble, think carefully, and build myself step by step.
Reflection & Inspiration
Today, I go by BIG SURPY an artist, creator, and dreamer who turned struggle into inspiration. I believe life is beautiful, even with its hardships. Music taught me resilience and gave me a voice to inspire others.
To anyone chasing a dream whether it’s music, engineering, business or something small like selling bread don’t give up. I started officially making music late, but passion has no deadline. What matters is persistence, belief, and the courage to keep going.
Like my song says: keep on pushing.
The Story Behind the Music
Music was never just sound, it was expression. Growing up surrounded by rhythm and culture, I often turned to music as a way to process life’s highs and lows. In the early days, I experimented with different styles, searching for the right balance between raw emotion and infectious energy. It was through this exploration that I discovered my voice, one that carried both power and vulnerability.
Drawing influence from Afrobeat pioneers while infusing my own modern edge, my music is both infectious and meaningful. His lyrics often reflect themes of perseverance, hustle, Love and faith, resonating with audiences who see their own journeys mirrored in mine. Every track is a testament to my belief in pushing boundaries and creating art that connects across borders.
